More money, less rain
I've been seriously out of commission due to a lack of internet access. For some reason, my new employer seems to think we should only use our internet connections for good, not evil - or at least for work, not personal use. And due to moving into the wild heart of Wellington (aka Aro Valley) my wireless account (via good old Woosh.com) is no longer working. Actually, scratch "good old Woosh" until I know if they're going to let me off the rest of my 12 month subscription.
So. Life is good, and busy. The new flat is pretty sweet, considering I'm paying a penny-saving $100 per week. And the room is about the same size as my previous one. On top of that I get to walk to work through the Botanic Gardens, which is starting to have a noticeable effect on my weight already (though regular gym going is probably helping me out there).
I'm six months into my relationship with Rhonda, which means its a longer relationship than any I've had since Adele (!) which ended in what, 1996 or something? (I'm discounting Cory seeing as internet relationships really shouldn't count, no matter how much you might feel in love with the other person). I'm still getting over that one, though. I'm just barely at the point where I can go on Bluelight and see her name and avatar and not react - much. But I haven't seen any of her new posts yet. Not sure I'm ready to be reading about a new boyfriend.
But all that is unfair on Rhonda, who is sweet and funny and sane and good company and probably just what I need right now.
And work is kicking ass, I feel like I'm accomplishing things, and to a high standard as well. All very good balm for the soul.
Oh, went to see the Shins on Monday at Orientation (I'm still a student ;-) ). They kicked ass and will definitely be big, sooner rather than later. (And I want 'Saint Simon' played at my funeral).
